Quirky Experiences in the JQ to Impress Your Clients

Scarlett MartinLocal GuidesNo CommentsSeptember 6, 2019

Got a client coming to visit your SME but unsure how you can make a lasting impression? We get it! Client visits can mean big and exciting things for your SME, so you’ll undoubtedly want to put your best foot forward. However, too much work and no play isn’t going to help you build a more personal relationship with your clients. So it’s time to start thinking outside of the box that is your office.

While your skills and work are bound to impress, one of the easiest ways of building a rapport with your clients is by taking them out to explore the delights of the local area- And no we don’t mean the local Wetherspoons! Instead of opting for the obvious, here are a whole host of fun and quirky experiences that are right on your doorstep in the Jewellery Quarter that are bound to make this client visit a cut above the rest.

Folium

While there are plenty of fantastic restaurants in the Jewellery Quarter, there’s only one place that really pushes the idea of eating out and that’s Folium. Just a hop, skip and a jump from St Paul’s Square, this modern restaurant prides itself on creating innovative and exciting food, using the highest quality ingredients from sustainable and ethical suppliers.

However, if that wasn’t impressive enough, Folium does things a little differently to the standard restaurant. Rather than having a set menu, they tailor it to the ingredients they are able to source each day. So you never know what you’re going to get until you arrive. Their dishes are like little works of art; combining inventive culinary skills with interesting ingredients and flavours. So whether you’re treating your client to lunch or dinner, this is one eating experience they will be talking about for years to come.

Jewellery Making

If you and your clients are creatives, why not give jewellery making a try during their visit? You are in the Jewellery Quarter after all! The Quarter Workshop, which is a beautiful workshop in the heart of the area, offers some fantastic workshops where a professional jeweller will show you how to make your very own pendant, keyring or bracelet. The workshops only last a few hours and you can all take your creations home with you at the end.

This can be a fantastic bonding experience for you and your clients where you’ll get to know each other on a much more personal level. You can be creative and learn something completely new together, whilst also switching your brains off from work for a little while. Plus there’s unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits throughout- how can anyone say no to that?

Ana Rocha Bar and art gallery

If you’re thinking of taking your client our for after-work drinks in the Jewellery Quarter, you’re really spoilt for choice. There’s a fantastic selection of pubs and bars throughout the area, each with its own unique vibe and style. However, if you’re looking to make an impact, Ana Rocha bar and gallery should be top of your list.

As the name suggests, this bar doubles up as a gallery with an amalgamation of both contemporary art and beautiful antiques. So as you and your clients sip away at your cocktails, you can soak up the culture and history of the artwork and furniture that surrounds you; which is bound to spark some lively conversation. If you’re visiting during the evening, you might be fortunate enough to catch one of the bar’s live music event, which will be a great added bonus.

Escape Live!

If you’ve got a team of clients coming to visit you, you need an activity that’s enjoyable and gets everyone involved. Thankfully, we’ve got just the thing. Escape Live is an escape room venue in the Jewellery Quarter where you’ll work as a team to solve clues and puzzles all in a bid to discover the exit of a locked room. You only have 60 minutes to find the exit inside a variety of themed rooms, so you’ll need to put your heads together to make sure you get out in time.

This enjoyable yet challenging experience can be a great way to team build and learn how your client works and thinks when faced with certain problems. But more than anything, it’s a fun and memorable activity that is guaranteed to impress your clients no end.

Ghost Walk

If your clients are staying overnight, a ghost walk around the Jewellery Quarter is an absolute must. A local guide will take you on a tour to visit the most haunted places within the Jewellery Quarter, including the famous catacombs, and tell you about local legends and interesting facts as they go. This experience is a unique and interactive way of exploring and learning about the local area, whilst also giving you and your clients the chance to escape the office.

It might not sound like a barrel of laughs, but trust us, it can be! It’s definitely not something your clients are likely to have done before, so that will just add to the excitement. Plus if things get a little too scary, there’s plenty of bars along the way where you can all grab a drink to calm your nerves.
